Arboricultural Inspector: City of Oakland Public Works Tree Division
The City of Oakland is currently recruiting for an Arboricultural Instector with the Oakland Public Works Department. The incumbent, under general supervision, performs work involving the inspection and evaluation of trees for maintenance, planting and/or removal; investigates and resolves tree maintenance service requests from the public, City departments, or outside agencies; makes field inspections for hazardous tree reports; assists in daily and weekly scheduling of work units; helps select and train tree maintenance personnel; and performs related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with urban forestry, able to diagnose tree problems and make recommendations, and demonstrates the ability to write reports. This individual is computer savvy, has exceptional oral and interpersonal communication skills, is able to make presentations in public settings, and has a proactive approach toward conflict resolutions.
